Wrembel conveys his knowledge in a logical step by step manner, exposing the reader to the authentic Manouche style as it continues to evolve in France and Holland. Medium to advanced in difficulty, this method is designed for the guitarist who is already familiar with jazz harmony and note locations on the fretboard. For the past decade, virtuoso guitarist Stephane Wrembel has played with some of the most celebrated musicians of the Manouche style, including: Serge Krief, Patrick Saussois, Frank Vignola as well as with musicians from other backgrounds such as Les Paul, Lionel Loueke, John McGann, and Rushad Eggleston. Stephane has performed at many festivals, such as the Jazz Festival of Alfortville, The Jazz Festival of Avon, Rochester International Jazz Festival, and also the famous Berkshire Mountain Festival. Stephane began his study of music at the age of four with the piano, winning five prizes in the Lucien Wurmser competition and at the National Conservatory of Aubervillier before his start on the guitar at age sixteen. He turned his attention to jazz very soon thereafter, and towards Gypsy jazz in particular. He studied with acknowledged masters Serge Krief, Moreno, Angelo Debarre, as well as in the most important school, that of the Gypsy camps. In terms of formal music education, Stephane studied composition arranging, jazz and contemporary classical music for five years at "The American School of Modern Music" in Paris. On graduation, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious "Berklee College of Music" in Boston, Massachusetts where he graduated "Summa cum Laude" in Music Performance. Shortly after receiving his diploma, he produced his first album with the Stephane Wrembel Trio entitled Introducing Stephane Wrembel. Stephane now lives in New York City, where he actively teaches, records, and performs. He is a sought-after clinician and performer throughout the United-States and Canada
